Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer said he expected to play rookie point guard Dennis Schröder in Sunday's preseason game against the Memphis Grizzlies barring a setback in pregame warmups. Schröder sat out Thursday's game against the Spurs with a sore knee.
Budenholzer also indicated that guard John Jenkins won't play on Sunday but could make his preseason debut sometime next week. Jenkins has missed the entire preseason with back injury. He was on the court early with Lou Williams and assistant coach Kenny Atkinson working out during pregame. Jenkins appeared to be moving well with no restrictions but looked winded at the end of the workout.
The Hawks will go with their usual starting lineup of Teague, Korver, Carroll, Millsap and Horford against the Grizzlies. Coach Budenholzer indicated that he wanted to get the starters more time together to help build chemistry but that they probably wouldn't play any longer than they did on Thursday against the Spurs.
