After a pair of preseason games and several days of practice, the Atlanta Hawks head to Biloxi, Mississippi to take on the New Orleans Pelicans Sunday afternoon. Atlanta split the first two preseason contests falling to Miami before pulling out a win over Charlotte.
Mike Budenholzer went with two completely different rotations in each of the first two preseason games and was still considering his options for Sunday when the team practiced on Friday.
"To be honest with you, Sunday seems like a long time away," Budenholzer said. "I've thought about it a little bit but I will spend more time over the next 48 hours deciding how much or how little to play starters and how much or how little we want to look at guys."
The Hawks are one of the few NBA teams that have not made any cuts to their 20 man training camp roster. Sunday could be the last real chance for several players to impress team officials.
The Pelicans come into the game at 3-0 after a 99-95 win over Orlando on Wednesday. Anthony Davis finished with 29 points and nine rebounds against the Magic and is off to a great start. Neither Tyreke Evans or Eric Gordon played against the Magic due to ankle injuries and neither are expected to suit up on Sunday.
Former Hawk Anthony Morrow started at shooting guard for the Pelicans on Wednesday. Morrow was traded to Atlanta in the Joe Johnson deal and was later moved to Dallas for Dahntay Jones.
