Due to this power ranking occurring during new years week, it appears that we will be short of a couple rankings probably because of partying....... I mean off for the holiday. the Well lets get started and see what John Schuhmann at NBA.com has to say when moving us up one spot to #7

Atlanta (19-9)
Pace: 94.0 (18), OffRtg: 102.6 (12), DefRtg: 99.3 (7), NetRtg: +3.3 (9)
The Hawks' offense continues to flourish with Lou Williams in the starting lineup, even with Josh Smith missing Saturday's game against the Pacers' top-two defense. Atlanta has scored 111 points per 100 possessions in the four games (all wins) that Williams has started. The Hawks play nine of their next 11 games on the road, but they've been the league's fifth-best road team (NetRtg: +3.6) thus far.

Marc Stein at ESPN.com keeps us at #8

The Hawks' prospects didn't look all that great back on opening night, when they surrendered 45 points to James Harden and lost at home. Yet they enter Monday night's rematch in Houston with the best road record in the East at 8-4 ... while Joe Johnson and the Nets try to dig out of disarray.

Short week in the rankings but as we can see we are still in the same are that we have been in for the last couple of weeks. But what do you guys think, does Atlanta deserve to get moved up or are we right where we need to be?
