2013 NBA Standings: Hawks fall 4.5 back of East leading Heat

The Atlanta Hawks went 3-1 this week and despite being in sixth place in the Eastern Conference are just 4.5 games behind the first place Miami Heat.

The Atlanta Hawks were able to get themselves back on track this week going 3-1 with wins over the Timberwolves, Bobcats and Celtics in double overtime. The Hawks are still in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings but just 4.5 games behind first place Miami. Just three game separate Atlanta from second place New York so the East remains wide open.

Chicago is in third place and is an intriguing team as they will soon get back Derrick Rose from injury. The Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers are tied for fourth at 26-18.

The biggest news this week came on Sunday when we learned that Rajon Rondo had suffered a torn ACL in Friday's loss against the Hawks and will miss the remainder of the season. Will the Celtics be able to hold off the Philadelphia 76ers who should get back Andrew Bynum at some point during the season's second half.

Here is a look at the complete Eastern Conference Standings:
