The Atlanta Hawks look for avenge an earlier loss to the Boston Celtics when the two teams meet at Philips Arena.

USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Hawks are hopeful that they can get a few of their injured players back in time for Friday's game against the Boston Celtics. Al Horford, Zaza Pachulia and Devin Harris are all listed as day-to-day with various ailments. None of the trio played in Wednesday's win over the Charlotte Bobcats. Larry Drew indicated that all three players would be reevaluated after the team's shootaround on Friday.

The last time the Hawks saw the Celtics they took a 15-point lead into halftime only to be outscored 33-9 in the third quarter of an 89-81 loss. That loss helped send the Hawks into a spiral where they eventually lost eight of their next 10 games. The Celtics were in the midst of winning six straight the first time the two teams met. On Friday they will be trying to avoid their sixth straight loss.

While it is a long season and the Hawks will play Boston two more times, they have not forgotten what happened in the first meeting. Even Larry Drew admitted that there was a bit more motivation for tonight's game.

"I think there is a little something (extra)," Drew said of facing the Celtics. "We are not very happy with the way we played the second half last time against this team. We played such a good half of basketball and then we come back and collapse in the second half. I'm sure they remember. I'm sure there is something they want to prove having played the way they played the second half because they know they can play better."
