Josh Smith sat down for a one-on-one question and answer session with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore on Thursday. On one hand, Smith said he is ready to move forward but on the other he wasn't exactly admitting blame. When asked about what happened that caused the suspension Smith answered with this:
It is what it is. It's over and done with. Me personally, this is my ninth year and people are going to get into debates all the time. I don't necessarily have to agree with the verdict or decision they made. It is what it is. I just have to look forward now and playing with a clear head and not worrying about any distractions other than basketball.
Smith went on to answer four questions from Vivlamore on a couple of topics including the Hawks' performance last night without him. The answers are interesting depending on how you choose to take them.
Smith also met with coach Larry Drew prior to the team's practice on Thursday. Drew indicated that the meeting was a positive one.
"Josh and I have been together for a little while and that's the one thing I will say about the two of us that when we've had our differences we are always able to sit down, talk about it and move on," Drew said. "That is where we are."
Lets just hope that Smith's return is a positive thing for the team and the Hawks can get back to playing a winning brand of basketball.
