DeShawn Stevenson injury: Hawks' guard will receive cortisone shot

DeShawn Stevenson returned to action Wednesday night against the Brooklyn Nets playing 21 minutes and finishing with three points. Stevenson has been hampered of late by a sore knee and will reportedly receive a cortisone shot following the game and likely won't play again until Monday against Minnesota.

Stevenson checked into the game midway through the first quarter and seemed to give the Hawks a boost defensively. While he knocked down a number of shots from beyond-the-arc this season, his biggest attribute is his perimeter defense where Atlanta struggles to matchup at times with opponents. The Hawks need him healthy and perhaps this treatment along with the time off will help the situation.

Stevenson has played in 25 games this season while making 14 starts. He is averaging 5.8 points a game while hitting 38 percent of his three-point attempts.
