There may not be a more appropriate way to kick off the beginning of SB Nation United except with a post announcing Hawks training camp. After suffering through the uncertainty of last season’s lockout, the NBA is back to normal for the 2012-13 season. We here at Peachtree Hoops are excited and it appears that the players are as well.
Training Camp in 7 days... #TurnUp #Highlightfactory #ATL #Cantwait
— Lou Williams (@TeamLou23) September 24, 2012
While no official announcement by the team on training camp has been made, Williams tweet seems to indicate that things will be getting underway on Monday. Much has changed for the Hawks since we last saw them. Gone are Joe Johnson, Marvin Williams and most of the rebuilt bench that helped the team to 40 wins in the lockout shortened 2012 season. In their places are newcomers and Atlanta natives Lou Williams and Anthony Morrow as well as first-round pick John Jenkins.
Danny Ferry has been on the job for just a few short months and although the future is uncertain the financial flexibility gained by the team makes it promising.
The next chapter of the Atlanta Hawks officially begins next week with training camp. The next chapter of Peachtree Hoops and SB Nation begins today.
