Think you have what it takes to get to the NBA? If so, then the NBA D-League is currently holding tryouts throughout the country that will afford you the opportunity. One such tryout is scheduled for September 22-23 in Phoenix by the Bakersfiled Jam who will serve as the D-League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks this season. The tryout will take place at US Airways Arena.
This will mark the third consecutive season that the Hawks have switched D-League affiliates after being aligned with Reno last season. Atlanta didn't utilize the NBA's minor league last year but have sent players like Pape Sy down in the past. With Danny Ferry in place as GM, the Hawks are placing much more of an emphasis on player development. That will likely include much more involvement with the team's D-League team.
For those wondering, Bakersfield finished third in the D-League's Western Conference going 28-22 and earning the sixth seed in the playoffs. The Jam will also be an affiliate for the Clippers, Suns and Raptors.
