(From SB Nation Atlanta - Kris Willis) According to a report by Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski a decision on the rumored Joe Johnson trade could be reached on Sunday. If the two clubs don't complete the trade then the Nets are expected to begin pursuing O.J. Mayo.

The most interesting part of this scenario is that it if this is true then the Nets likely aren't going to wait around any longer on the Magic for Dwight Howard. Brooklyn probably can't offer the most appealing trade package too Orlando anyway and teams like the Houston Rockets are offering a variety of assets to the Magic even without reassurance that Howard will re-sign.

A Joe Johnson trade for the Hawks would free up a lot of cap room and provide some financial flexibility. That money could potentially turn into a extension offer or a new contract for Josh Smith. New Jersey is one of the few teams that have the resources and would be willing to take on Johnson's deal.
