The Dallas Mavericks will hold Jason Kidd out of tonight's season finale with the Altanta Hawks but all other regulars are expected to suit up and see action. However, Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle indicated after this morning's shootaround that many players will have their minutes "scrutinized" during tonight's game.
"We have a plan for tonight and we'll execute that plan," Carlisle said.
Tonight's game is still meaningful for the Mavericks as they are not yet locked into their seed in the playoffs. They do however need help to move up to sixth where they would avoid Oklahoma City in the first-round of the playoffs. To move up the Mavericks must defeat the Hawks tonight and then have Denver lose in Minnesota. Otherwise they will begin play on Saturday in Oklahoma City.
The Mavericks have enjoyed four straight off days since they last played on Saturday when they suffered a 93-83 loss in Chicago to the Bulls.
