Atlanta's six-game road trip rolls on with a stop Tuesday night in Denver for the Hawks' lone matchup with the Nuggets this season. Denver dropped a 94-91 contest on Sunday at home against the Memphis Grizzlies. Ty Lawson suffered an ankle injury in that loss and is day-to-day. Danilo Gallinari made his return to the starting lineup for the first time since returning from a severe ankle injury. Gallinari struggled against the Grizzlies going scoreless.
Josh Smith scored 28 points in Atlanta's 106-99 win over Sacramento on Sunday and is averaging 25.5 points and 9.8 rebounds on 50 percent shooting in six games during March. He will look to keep things rolling against the Nuggets.
