No the Atlanta Hawks aren't represented and maybe they should be (Ivan Johnson) but that doesn't stop us from taking in the festivities from All-Star Weekend. Up first is the Rookie-Sophomore game that got a format revamp this season. The game is still made up of first or second-year NBA players but the teams were selected by TNT NBA personalities Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal in an old-school playground pickup game format.
Here are a look at the rosters:
Team Chuck
John Wall
Kyrie Irving
DeMarcus Cousins
Paul George
Derrick Williams
MarShon Brooks
Gordon Hayward
Tiago Splitter
Kawhi Leonard
Evan Turner
Team Shaq
Blake Griffin
Jeremy Lin
Ricky Rubio
Greg Monroe
Markieff Morris
Kemba Walker
Landry Fields
Norris Cole
Brandon Knight
Tristan Thompson
Not a lot of news worthy hype leading up to the game but Washington Wizards point guard John Wall was a little miffed at being selected 12th by Team Chuck.
It's a joke to me," said Wall, who is averaging 16.9 points and 7.5 assists in his second season. "If they think there are 11 guys better than me, then that's their decision. But I know what I think in my mind and all I can do is go out there and play basketball the way I know how to play."
