After playing four games in five days, the Atlanta Hawks will enjoy three-straight off days prior to returning to action on Wednesday the day after Christmas. The Hawks will play three times this week including another back-to-back on Friday and Saturday.
Up first for Atlanta coming out of the break is the Detroit Pistons who have won just twice in their last eight games with both victories coming against the Washington Wizards. The Pistons are currently 9-21 on the season and just 3-13 on the road.
The Hawks hit the road on Friday night when they take on Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Atlanta's 113-111 loss to the Cavs back on November 30 snapped a six-game winning streak. Irving sat out the earlier meeting but is averaging 22.8 points and 5.4 assists per game for Cleveland.
Atlanta will fly back home following Friday's game and prepare for a matchup against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. The Hawks won the earlier matchup between the two teams 89-86 behind 16 points and nine rebounds from Al Horford. The Pacers are fighting it out with the Chicago Bulls for the Central Division lead despite being without Danny Granger the entire season.
