The Atlanta Hawks carry a three-game winning streak into Miami to face off against the defending NBA Champion Heat. Atlanta has won nine of its last 10 games and most recently clipped the Memphis Grizzlies 93-83 on Saturday.
Atlanta is not likely to sneak up on the Heat who snapped a two-game slide with a 106-90 win over New Orleans Saturday. MIami is one game up on the Hawks in the Southeast Division and one back of the New York Knicks for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Chris Bosh recently talked about the sudden competition in the Southeast Division.
"They say it's lonely at the top, so you don't want to be by yourself up there,'' said Bosh, Miami's center. "You have to have somebody who makes you come and work constantly every day.'' Bosh said having Atlanta challenge Miami "just makes it a little easier to really challenge each other and push each other when you're more on edge.''
The Hawks will be without forward Kyle Korver who is still battling a sore back. The Hawks were hopeful that he might be able to rejoin the team in time for Wednesday's game against the Orlando Magic.
