Hawks vs. Bobcats: Atlanta looks to extend streak against resurgent Charlotte

The Atlanta Hawks look to extend their three-game winning streak when they travel to Charlotte to take on the surprising Bobcats.

Paul Abell-US PRESSWIRE

The Atlanta Hawks pulled out their third consecutive win on Wednesday thanks to a Kyle Korver three pointer and a Washington Wizards' buzzer beater that came a fraction of a second too late. Atlanta struggled to put away the Wizards for long stretches throughout the game on Wednesday, if they do the same Friday night they could be in trouble against a surprising Bobcats squad that is off to a good start.

The Bobcats have nearly as many wins this season through 10 games as they did the entire season a year ago. Charlotte finished 7-59 last season but are 6-4 this season. Kemba Walker, now in his second-year, is enjoying a great start to the season averaging a team best 18.8 points per game. Charlotte defeated Toronto 98-97 on Wednesday.

Rebounding woes plagued Atlanta against the Wizards as they were outworked on the glass by a 58-37 margin. Atlanta benefitted from 23 turnovers by the Wizards and held Washington to 42 percent shooting. Atlanta is now fifth in the league in scoring defense allowing opposing teams just over 92 points per game.
