Fresh off of a 2-2 western road trip, the Atlanta Hawks return to Philips Arena on Monday for a matchup with the Orlando Magic. Atlanta will play seven of their next eight games at home and have a chance to build some momentum in the early part of the NBA's regular season.
Atlanta closed out their road trip with a 112-96 win over the Sacramento Kings behind a solid effort from Kyle Korver and Lou Williams. After some early season struggles, Korver has played much better of late averaging over 17 points a game over the last three. Lou Williams scored 21 points off the bench on Friday and is averaging 14.8 per game this season.
Orlando is 3-6 and trying to pick up the pieces under new head coach Jacque Vaughn from an offseason that saw the departures of All-Star center Dwight Howard along with long time head coach Stan Van Gundy. The Magic are led by Arron Afflalo leads Orlando at 16.3 points per game. Glen Davis is averaging 15.7 points and 8.7 rebounds a night for the Magic.
Orlando dropped a 97-86 decision to Toronto on Sunday without J.J. Redick who missed the game due to illness. Redick's status for tonight's game is unknown. Orlando is already operating short-handed as injuries have sidelined both Al Harrington (knee) and Hedo Turkoglu (hand).
