The Atlanta Hawks wrapped up their 2012 preseason schedule with a 104-88 loss to the Detroit Pistons. Atlanta finishes the preseason with a 3-4 record with all four losses having come on the road.

The Hawks fell behind early to the Pistons trailing 28-20 at the end of the first quarter. The Pistons continued to push the issue in the second but an Atlanta run brought them within 11 at the half. However, Detroit was able to hold off the Hawks in the second half thanks in large part to 21 Atlanta turnovers.

The Hawks finished the game shooting 40 percent and hit 10 threes but were beaten up on the boards by the Pistons to the tune of 48-30.

Lou Williams led all scorers with 17 points while Al Horford added 10 points and six boards in 24 minutes. Mike Scott, Kyle Korver and Josh Smith all finished with nine points each.

Greg Monroe led the Pistons with 16 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Brandon Knight added 16 points of his own while Tayshaun Prince chipped in 15. Rookie Andre Drummond finished with a double-double off the bench with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Jeff Teague and Zaza Pachulia missed their second straight game with ankle injuries. Johan Petro didn't travel to Detroit due to a sore back. John Jenkins returned to action after missing two games with a hand contusion and finished with seven points on 3-3 shooting.

Atlanta will open its regular season schedule on November 2 against the Houston Rockets.
