Hawks Injury notes: Devin Harris made his preseason debut on Tuesday against the Grizzlies after missing the first three preseason games with a knee injury. DeShawn Stevenson has missed the last three games with a sore knee but could be back in the lineup on Thursday. Josh Smith and Al Horford sat out Tuesday's game against the Grizzlies although Larry Drew said that both were healthy enough to play. Smith has a sore knee while Horford has a sore shoulder. Both are expected to return to the lineup on Thursday.
Hornets Injury notes: Anthony Davis sat out the Hornets loss on Friday to the Houston Rockets with a sore groin. He is expected to return to action against the Hawks. Eric Gordon has yet to play during the preseason for the Hornets but is also reportedly getting closer to being ready for action.
Player(s) to watch: DeShawn Stevenson, Kyle Korver, Damion James, Anthony Morrow and anyone else Larry Drew decides to deploy at the small forward position. The Hawks appear set with Jeff Teague, Devin Harris and Lou Williams soaking up the majority of minutes in the backcourt. There will be some left over minutes available in the backcourt but the four players mentioned will likely all have some opportunity to man the small forward position as well.
