Anthony Morrow made his presence felt for the first time this preseason and Al Horford continues to round into shape but a poor third quarter proved to be more than the Hawks could overcome as they fell to the Grizzlies 110-102.
Morrow scored 11 of his 12 points in the first half finishing 4-8 from the field and 2-3 from beyond-the-arc. Horford finished with 13 points and five rebounds and one thunderous dunk over the top of Memphis' Quincy Pondexter. Kyle Korver added 11 points while Ivan Johnson and Lou Williams chipped in 10 each. Jeff Teague added nine points and eight assists.
Atlanta will be back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers. Following that game, the Hawks return home for two straight games against the New Orleans Hornets and the Dallas Mavericks. Atlanta will then close out the preseason schedule on the road against the Pistons.
