Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith moves up to No. 8 in the second edition of SB Nation's MVP Power Rankings. On Smith, SB Nation's Tom Ziller writes:
8. |
Josh Smith | Hawks | 17.0 points on .518 TS%, 9.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.7 steals, 2.4 blocks | 10 |
I refuse to apologize for thinking that Josh Smith's all-around game deserves more attention. His shooting remains iffy, but he is giving Atlanta just about everything that it needs and is a big reason the Hawks appear to be staying afloat without Al Horford. |
Smith trails the usual big names on the list like Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Dwight Howard but Smith has elevated his game since the injury to Al Horford and it is nice that someone has taken notice. In the three games since the Horford injury, Smith is averaging 22 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks while making 57 percent of his shots.
