Scott Schroeder of Ridiculous Upside reports that longtime assistant coach Paul Mokeski has been named as head coach of the Reno Bighorns of the NBA Development League. Remember that the Atlanta Hawks switched Development League Affiliates this season after the Utah Flash ceased operations. Also affiliated with the Big Horns are the Memphis Grizzlies and the Sacramento Kings.

Mokeski is a 12 year NBA veteran having played with the Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors. He has previous coaching experience in the D-League having served as an assistant with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Anaheim Arsenal and Fort Worth Flyers. He has also been an assistant coach in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks and the Charlotte Bobcats.

Mokeski is replacing former Bighorns coach and Atlanta Hawks assistant coach Eric Musselman who left Reno to take the head coaching job with the L.A. Defenders. Remember the NBA Development League is unaffected by the NBA Lockout and will continue normal operations this season.
