Josh Smith Bothered By Sore Elbow After Game 1 Victory

Michael Cunningham reports that Atlanta forward Josh Smith suffered a sprained left elbow during Atlanta's Game 1 victory over the Orlando Magic. Smith will play in Game 2 on Tuesday night and doesn't know when or how the injury occurred.

"I don't know if a guy fell on me or I caught a screen or what," Smith said. "With all of the adrenaline I didn't feel it after the game, but when I woke up it was a different story."

Is it possible that it could have occurred on this play? Smith is left-handed and the injury is on his shooting arm. If there is a silver lining for the Hawks perhaps the injury keeps Smith a little closer to the basket in Game 2. Smith scored 15 points while grabbing eight rebounds in just under 34 minutes of action in Game 1.

Smith figures to play a huge part at both ends of the court in Game 2 for the Hawks. Atlanta will need Smith to win his match up with Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu at both ends of the court. Orlando figures to try and get Turkoglu involved a little more on the offensive end in Game 2 to provide some offensive help for Dwight Howard
