Official Hawks blogger Jon Newberry reports from today's Hawks practice that both Al Horford (back) and Joe Johnson (knee) both sat out today's session. Newberry also said that Josh Smith was limited as he too is nursing a sore knee.
Johnson was given rest at the advice of head athletic trainer Wally Blase.
Al was receiving treatment on his sore back and resting his right ankle that has not been 100% since the Hawks win in Miami on Jan. 18.
Josh was resting his knee that has been bothering him since he hyper-extended it on Jan. 21 vs. New Orleans.
The Hawks are over 50 games into the season and it comes as no surprise that the team is nursing some injuries. Both Johnson and Smith are expected to play in tomorrow's game but there hasn't been any update on the status of Al Horford. With the team not playing again until Saturday, the Hawks may choose to play it safe with Horford and not rush him back.
