With just 27 games remaining in the NBA season, the Atlanta Hawks find themselves in fifth place in the Eastern Conference one game behind the Orlando Magic and four and a half games behind the Chicago Bulls for third. The way the Hawks have limped into All-Star Weekend has done little to promote confidence in the team going forward. At 34-21 the Hawks are still in good position but it appears with each passing week that their likely match-up in the playoffs will be with Orlando who dispatched Atlanta last season in record fashion.

After the current seven game road trip, Atlanta will play ten of its next eleven games at Philips Arena in what could be the biggest stretch for the team the entire season. For those keeping an eye on the trade deadline, the Hawks play two more games before the February 24th deadline.
