Josh Smith fined $25,000 By The NBA

The fallout continues from the shenanigans that went on at the end of the Hawks 111-102 victory over the New York Knicks. The Hawks announced today that Josh Smith had been fined $25,000 for making an obscene gesture after hitting a three pointer with 3:44 remaining in the fourth period against the Knicks.

ATLANTA’S JOSH SMITH FINED

NEW YORK, January 30, 2011 – Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith has been fined $25,000 for making an obscene gesture, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.

The incident occurred with 3:44 remaining in the fourth period of the Hawks’ 111-102 win over the New York Knicks at Philips Arena in Atlanta on January 28.

Marvin Williams was also suspended two games stemming from an altercation between he and the Knicks Shawne Williams which occurred with 43 seconds remaining in the game.
