Atlanta Hawks Injury Report: Horford & Williams Expected Back

Michael Cunningham is back on the beat and gives us some good news on the injury front.

Al returned to practice today. Marvin was cleared for contact (though there was no contact today). J.J. (knee) and Smoove (knee) sat out, but since the former finished the game Saturday at Charlotte after he banged his knee and the latter played Saturday after he was dinged on Friday they both should be good to go.

 Hawks coach Larry Drew added:

"For the most part, I think everybody is going to be OK," L.D. said. "Should have everybody back tomorrow."

So after a long wait it appears that Atlanta will have its full complement of players available when they travel to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks Wednesday. Cunningham reports that the entire starting unit hasn't been available since Dec. 29th. In the Hawks last meeting against Milwaukee, Marvin Williams came off the bench while Joson Collins played 32 minutes while being matched with Milwaukee's Andrew Bogut. Because of Bogut's presence and the fact that Marvin has been out for so long, I would guess that Collins will return to the starting lineup tomorrow night with Williams coming off the bench.

MC also reports that Josh Powell also practiced but had no information on the details surrounding his one game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.

L.D. said that’s the end of it: "Everything is back to normal. It is not one of those situations of making it a prolonged thing. There is no grudges. I’ve still got to coach him; he’s still my player. We will go back to business as usual. I think that’s the way you handle it, the way you deal with it."

Hopefully that was an isolated case and not something that will be a problem down the road.

One thing to watch with the Hawks roster now back intact is what this means for Damien Wilkins. His second 10-day contract will be up very soon and the Hawks will have to make the decision to either cut him loose or sign him to a contract for the remainder of the season.
