Game Preview:
After struggling early, the Knicks come into the game red hot riding a five game winning streak which has them back at .500 for the season. Raymond Felton has been playing really well during the win streak and this Knicks team will challenge the Hawks defensively in every facet of the game. The Hawks come in feeling a little bit better about themselves after a twenty point home victory over the Wizards on Thanksgiving. The challenge for them going forward will be consistency in obtaining that same effort no matter the opponent.
Keys to the Game:
The Knicks are going to present some match up problems the Hawks way and it will be key that they meet those challenges defensively. The beginning of those problems start with Raymond Felton and the Hawks need a great effort against him today to prevent him from setting the tone early. If they can keep him out of the paint and turn him into a jump shooter it will go a long way towards a Hawks victory. Rebounding is crucial today as is transition defense. This Knicks team loves to push the ball up the court and then kick out to wide open three point shooters like Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler. Share the ball on offense and good things will happen.
Really looking forward to today's game in one of the NBA's most storied arenas and the match up against one of my personal favorite coaches in the NBA.
