Michael Cunningham: Woodson defends Smith

11

Woody and Josh address the (rather obvious) questionable effort from Josh during game 2. Of particular interest is this quote from Josh. "I think I played a good game yesterday." Seriously Josh? Several times, on both sides of the ball, you were the very last person to cross half-court. The other 9 Hawks combined for 3 turnovers, and you had 5 on your lonesome. Are you satisfied with that game? HT:Hoopinion

Josh Smith and Joe Johnson do not care for Mike Woodson's crunch time coaching

Bill Simmons talked to Ric Bucher the other day on his podcast, and Simmons asked for three side line tidbits (around the 24 minute mark). The first one Bucher told (and the one he was most excited about) was pressure point of the game Mike Woodson tried to critique Joe and Josh. Bucher reports in no uncertain terms that their response was "shut up." So we got that going for us, which is nice.

I ran the annual winning percentages of the Hawks, Braves, and Falcons through Excel and spat out a bunch of charts. See if you can make any sense of it, because I sure couldn't.

Hawks last win on road in an elimination game: 5-2-97 at Detroit. Steve Smith 28 Mookie 10-10-9. Hawks, 94-82.

Jamal Crawford Named NBA's 6th Man of the year

"Crawford received 580 of a possible 610 points, including 110 of a possible 122 first-place votes, from a panel of 122 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada. Jason Terry of the Dallas Mavericks, who won the award last season, finished second with 220 points." Congrats to Jamal. We all saw it coming, and it was definitely well earned. We can all thank him for having an awesome year for us.

"I felt like they were a little bit cocky," Jennings said Sunday. "They came in like, ‘OK, it’s Milwaukee, we’re up 2-0.’ I mean, that’s just how I felt. I felt like they thought they were just going to come in and just blow us out. I think with the crowd, and the way we came out, it just changed everything."

Things got a bit interesting after shootaround...a car slammed into team bus on way back 2 hotel... every1's OK

From Hawks PR Man twitter. Wow, we need perspective when it comes to wins and losses, but not that intense of a perspective. Thankfully everyone is ok.

Bucks look to put brakes on Hawks' forward Josh Smith

It seems that J-Smoove is in the heads of the Bucks. Hope he stays there.
