Another team is reportedly set to join the growing list of suitors for Al Horford.

Marc Stein of ESPN reports that the Wizards could target Horford beginning on July 1, and that isn’t exactly a surprise. The growing sentiment is that Washington will miss out on “hometown favorite” Kevin Durant, and if that is the case, Horford is seen by many as the second-best free agent available on the market.
The long-time center for the Atlanta Hawks has been linked to many teams in terms of interest, headlined by the Golden State Warriors. Still, the Hawks hold the trump card in the ability to offer (by far) the biggest contract that also features a fifth year of guaranteed money, and even with John Wall and (presumably) Bradley Beal on board, it would be tough for the Wizards to sell a superior basketball situation to Atlanta.
More teams will undoubtedly surface before Al Horford agrees to a contract in July, but we can safely add the Wizards to the queue.
