Jeff Teague will sit out Friday's game against the Miami Heat due to a tender ankle according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore. Teague rolled his ankle in the first quarter of Wednesday's game against the Orlando Magic. He returned in the second quarter and helped fuel Atlanta's fourth quarter comeback to snap a three-game losing streak.
Teague experienced swelling in the ankle on Thursday although it is not though of as being serious. Dennis Schroder will get the start in place of Teague with Shelvin Mack assuming the backup role.
Also per Vivlamore, Pero Antic is dealing with a stiff neck but his status won't be determined until closer to tip off.
The Miami Heat are dealing with their own injury problems. Center Hassan Whiteside has been ruled out for Friday's game with a hand injury. Dwyane Wade did not participate in this morning's shootaround due to a knee contusion and is officially listed as questionable. Neither played in Wednesday's win over the Boston Celtics.
