The Atlanta Hawks close out the 2014 regular season with a matchup in Milwaukee against the Bucks and old coach Larry Drew. Atlanta has wrapped up their seventh consecutive trip to the playoffs and will be matched up against top seeded Indiana in the first round. Milwaukee has the league's worst record and has the best chance to come away with the No. 1 pick in the June draft.
With their playoff seed locked up, Atlanta is likely to rest more of their regulars against the Bucks. Kyle Korver, Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll all sat out Monday's loss to the Charlotte Bobcats. Jeff Teague and Pero Antic played but were held out in the fourth quarter. All 12 players available on the active roster for the Hawks traveled to Milwaukee but word on who will sit and who will play will likely be announced closer to tip off.
One player that might benefit from sitting is Antic who indicated following Monday's game that he was still experiencing soreness in his ankle. He missed more than a month earlier this season with a stress fracture in that ankle and has played with some soreness since returning. Antic figures to be a big part of Atlanta's game plan in the playoffs against the Pacers so it won't be a big surprise if he sits out Wednesday's game.
Atlanta has won both meetings against Milwaukee this season and six straight in the series. Millsap led six Hawks' players in double figures in a 112-87 win in Milwaukee back in January. Atlanta needed a big fourth quarter in March to capture a 102-97 win at home.
