Atlanta's long road trip finally comes to an end on Monday night when the Hawks take on the Jazz at EnergySolutions Arena. The Hawks come in reeling having lost six straight and 14 of 15. They have dropped 10 straight on the road but have taken five straight from Utah and eight of the last nine.
The game will mark the return of Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll to Utah for the first time since signing with Atlanta over the summer. Millsap spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Jazz while averaging 12.0 points and seven rebounds. Carroll spent the last two seasons in Utah. Both have enjoyed breakout seasons with the Hawks. Millsap earned his first All-Star bid and is averaging a career-best 17.5 points. Carroll has set career-highs across the board and is averaging 11 points and 5.4 rebounds.
Millsap told the AJC on Sunday that he expects to hear boos from the Utah crowd.
"They should boo me. I'm on the opposing team. Anyone comes into your house, you boo them. I expect the worst. Hopefully, it's not what I expect it will be."
Atlanta came close to snapping their losing streak on Saturday before suffering a heartbreaking 109-108 loss to the Clippers. The Hawks have slowly gotten healthy on the trip and Saturday's game was their best effort in some time.
Utah snapped a five-game losing streak with a win in Philadelphia on Saturday. The Hawks scored a 118-85 blowout win over the Jazz back in December.
