Hawks to start big lineup again in Game 4; Drew responds to Collins announcement

USA TODAY Sports

The Hawks will not make any changes to their starting lineup after the success they had in Game 3 as Johan Petro is back from the birth of his son in Miami and ready to play.

Johan Petro's wife had their baby boy, Jacob, around 2 PM this afternoon in Miami, but owner Bruce Levenson flew Petro back on his private jet so he would be available for tonight's Game 4 against the Celtics. Petro is in the starting lineup for the second game in a row as Larry Drew has decided not to make any changes to the lineup that helped carry the Hawks to a 90-69 beating of the Pacers in Game 3.

The Hawks will hope that Josh Smith will continue to give Paul George problems on both ends of the floor, but expect the Pacers to make changes, especially in defending Smith in the post. Smith will have to expect the double to come earlier and be prepared to pass out of the double-team. Ivan Johnson will also be expected to play a major role in the game as he was in Game 3, and Hawks fans can expect to see Johnson play early and often as Petro will likely be very tired from the past 24 hours being spent at the hospital.

The big news of the day was Jason Collins announcement that he is gay, and Larry Drew said prior to the game that he received a phone call from Collins during practice and left him a message later. Drew said, "I'm very proud of Jason. It took a lot of courage to say what he did." Drew's sentiments echoed most of the public reaction from the NBA, which has been overwhelmingly positive towards Collins' comments.
