Lakers vs. Hawks: Jeff Teague out, Josh Smith doubtful

Joshua S. Kelly-US PRESSWIRE

Jeff Teague will miss his first game of the season Wednesday night due to an ankle injury and Josh Smith will be a game time decision with a sprained knee.

The Atlanta Hawks are likely to be down a couple of starters Wednesday when they take on the Los Angeles Lakers. Jeff Teague was declared out with an ankle injury by head coach Larry Drew during the pregame and Josh Smith is listed as doubtful with a sprained knee.

Larry Drew will go with Devin Harris and Dahntay Jones in the backcourt along with a frontcourt featuring Anthony Tolliver, Al Horford and Johan Petro. Zaza Pachulia will also miss his sixth straight game with an Achilles injury and DeShawn Stevenson isn't expected to play on the second night of a back-to-back.

Smith will be a game time decision but is listed as doubtful and it is unlikely the Hawks will force the issue. The Hawks don't play again until Friday night against Phoenix.
