DeMarre Carroll left Thursday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers midway through the fourth quarter with what appeared to be some sort of hand injury. Carroll suffered the injury as he tried to fight through a screen by Cleveland's Tyler Zeller.
Carroll went down at midcourt in pain and was eventually helped to the locker room area. He was later diagnosed with a sprained thumb and announced as doubtful to return.
At the time of the injury Carroll had played just over 25 minutes and had eight points on 3-7 shooting. Carroll came in averaging 9.3 points and 5.7 rebounds while shooting 44 percent.
The Hawks can ill afford to lose Carroll for any length of time as they have few options behind him at the small forward position.
