Jared Cunningham returned to the NBA D-League this week and helped the Bakersfield Jam to a pair of wins with a couple of solid performances. The Jam handed Idaho their first loss of the season on Wednesday and then followed that up with a big win over Santa Cruz on Friday.
Cunningham was part of a balanced attack in the win over the Stampede finishing with 15 points on 4-10 shooting. He handed out two assists and grabbed five rebounds while going a perfect 6-6 at the free throw line. Utah assignee Rudy Gobert had a monster game against Idaho finishing with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
On Friday, Cunningham turned in his best performance since joining the D-League finishing with 30 points and eight assists in a 123-108 Bakersfield win. Cunningham hit 10-15 field goal attempts including 3-5 shooting from beyond-the-arc.
On the season Cunningham is now averaging 17.1 points per outing and has raised his shooting percentage to 36 percent. He was under the 30 percent mark when he was recalled to Atlanta before the latest assignment.
The Jam are off until after Christmas when they face Santa Cruz in a back-to-back starting on December 28.
