The Atlanta Hawks face the Boston Celtics for the first time this season. The Celtics eliminated the Hawks from the playoffs last season 4-2.
Lester Conner points out that while this is a rematch of last season's playoffs, plenty of faces on both teams are different this time around. Boston comes into the game with a 15-17 record but defeated the Indiana Pacers 94-75 last night. Atlanta trailed by as many as 19 points in the 3rd quarter and saw its comeback bid fall just short in Detroit losing 85-84.
