Hawks general manager Danny Ferry was fined $15,000 by the league for allegedly handing over a DVD to game officials after the game. The DVD reportedly contained video of Rajon Rondo's interaction with an official during Saturday's game against Boston.
Despite a two-game losing streak and going just 5-5 over their last 10 games, the Atlanta Hawks still only trail the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat by 2.5 games for first place in the Eastern Conference.
The Hawks jumped out to a 53-38 lead at the half, but the Celtics dominated the third quarter 33-9 to take a nine point lead that they would never relinquish. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 26 points and nine rebounds, while Lou Williams led all scorers with 28 points.
