As expected, Lou Williams underwent an MRI exam on his knee Saturday and the results were not good. Williams will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a ligament tear.

The Hawks confirmed that Williams tore his ACL. The injury will require surgery and several months of rehab. Williams' date for surgery still has not been confirmed.

Williams was the Hawks' third leading scorer averaging over 14 points a game this season. Williams' knee buckled on a drive during the second quarter of Friday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Lou had to be helped to the locker room and was unable to put any weight on the knee.

Williams is in his first year with the Hawks after signing a multi-year deal this past offseason. He spent the first seven years of his career with the Philadelphia 76ers.
