Great pickup
So while going online I noticed this by pure randomness.

Now after reading this, Im glad that the new JJ is excited to be on this team and play on the next level. I know that it is documented that he says he loves the fans here already (shocking) and looks forward to playing in front of them in the near future. So by saying already that he loves the fans, he will quickly become a fan favorite in all of Atlanta.
Now onto exactly what he said:
I’m going to California tomorrow (8/22) with Kyle Korver to work out.
Well I’m glad to see that he knows his future role with the team and on top of that he is working with one of the best spot up shooters in the NBA and a current teammate. I’m happy to see that he is already meshing with at least one of his teammates before training camp starts.
Dime: What kind of role do you foresee yourself playing next year with the Hawks?
JJ: Scorer. I’m gonna score and that’s what I want to do. And be a reliable defender also.
Well its good to see that he wants to work on his defense. After the recent departure of Joe and Marvin we are starved on the wing position and will be in desperate need of perimeter defense.
More of the interview can be found on the link above but a couple of things that I like about this kid is that he is a straight scorer. Not the Jamal Crawford type of scoring but think more like Ray Allen. For Vanderbilt he was the primary scorer and still shot slightly over 40% from deep. Jenkins is a great addition and if he and Teague can synch, they can be a deadly back court of speed and shooting. It leaves this Hawks fan in total excitement when it comes to the future. But again check out the interview and I’m sure you will like it as much as I did.
