John Jenkins scored 21 points and the Atlanta Hawks grabbed their second win of the Vegas Summer League 67-61 over the Mavericks. Atlanta used strong quarters in the first and third to keep the Mavericks at bay.
The Hawks jumped out to a 20-13 lead at the end of the first led by Jenkins who scored 11 of his 21 in the first. Jenkins hit 5 of 7 in the opening frame and went on to shoot 8 for 11 in the game. Second round pick Mike Scott posted his best line of the summer finishing with 11 points and seven boards and was the only other Hawks player in double figures. Keith Benson finished with eight points, six boards and four blocks in 20 minutes of action.
Jae Crowder led Dallas with 20 points while Dominique Jones and Bernard James added 12 and 11 points each.
