The Atlanta Hawks will begin play in the 2012 Vegas Summer League Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. Atlanta's roster probably looks a little different than it could have as before the Joe Johnson trade there were plenty of roster spots available. That has tightened some post trade but there is still an opportunity here and former second round picks Pape Sy and Keith Benson are hoping to take advantage this time around.

This will be the first opportunity to see 2012 draft picks John Jenkins and Mike Scott in Hawks uniforms. The roster is a nice blend of prospects and a few that have NBA or D-League experience. Also worth noting is that Brian Butch has apparently withdrawn from the Hawks summer league team and will be playing with Milwaukee.
