(SB Nation Atlanta - Kris Willis) - The Atlanta Dream dropped their second straight game Tuesday night falling on the road to the New York Liberty 79-74.
The Dream couldn't overcome cold shooting in the final quarter and a barrage of clutch baskets from New York's Cappie Pondexter. Atlanta carried a one point lead into the fourth quarter but scored just six points over the final 4:53 of the game as they failed to execute offensively.
Angel McCoughtry led the Dream with 21 points and 14 rebounds but was hardly efficient. McCoughtry needed 22 shots and six free throw attempts to amass those 21 points. Sancho Lyttle added 12 points and nine rebounds while Aneika Henry came off the bench to score 14 points.
Cappie Pondexter scored a game-high 26 points including nine in the fourth quarter. Lelani Mitchell added 18 points and Kia Vaughn 15 for the Liberty.
Atlanta falls to 2-4 on the season and will host the San Antonio Silver Stars on Friday night at Philips Arena.
