(From SB Nation Atlanta - Kris Willis) Angel McCoughtry sat out the Atlanta Dream's 75-73 loss to the Connecticut Sun on Sunday and her status for Tuesday's game against the New York Liberty is uncertain. From the sound of things neither her or coach Marynell Meadors are on the same page in regards to her injury.

McCoughtry told the Atlanta Journal and Constitution that she "wanted to be 100 percent healthy for the upcoming Olympics and for the second half of the WNBA season." She added that she could probably play on Tuesday but that it wouldn't be a wise decision on her part.

Head coach Marynell Meadors had a little bit of a different view point when she was asked about resting McCoughtry leading into the Olympics. Meadors will be serving as an assistant coach with the Olympic team this season.

"Absolutely not," said Meadors, who will be assistant on Geno Auriemma's U.S. women's basketball staff at the Olympics. "We're playing for the Atlanta Dream right now and she's one of our better performers. ... I'm not going to rest her. The Atlanta Dream is important. This is her job."

Atlanta is off to a slow start to the season at 4-6 as they try to integrate several new faces into their 2012 rotation. McCoughtry is not off to a slow start averaging a career high 22.7 points per game and Atlanta sorely missed her on Sunday when they failed to close out Connecticut.
