PrintHere is a list of available centers (from what I can tell they are availalbe) that the Hawks have to choose from. They aren't all great, but they are big and we need big.
In no particular order:
1.) Kyrylo Fresenko

I honestly don't know if any of these guys are willing or available to come to the Hawks. I saw them on HoopsHype Free Agent Centers board so I put them on here. Here are a list of the free agents still available: http://hoopshype.com/free_agency.htm

Wait a minute. I just looked up a trade with the Lakers and they have a trade exception from the Lamar Odom trade.
Then I looked up what Trade Exception is and we can clear salary AND get Troy Murphy (March 1st) for Kirk’s expiring.
That makes sense the Lakers want Hinrich and we get Troy Murphy.

I looked it up. I was wrong.
That was a year ago. Now a google search just pulls up rumors and blogs that say Kirk is more of a gamble now and I doubt they would want to give up Murphy and a TPE for Kirk.
Wouldn’t know though those are just blogs and fan rumors. They say they want a PG upgrade from Fisher and Goudelock but if I were Sund/Gearon I’d do my his due dilligence. But since I’m not the GM/owner of the Hawks I’d say we’re screwed.

Which of the above centers aren't just centers but make the Hawks better?

Well we aren't gonna find an Al Horford replacement that is for sure.
I think we are trying to find a guy that takes the place of what Zaza provided us with off the bench. I think it is more important to find a guy that is going to be physical, play good defense, and provide size. Out of the guys listed Przybilla, Gadzuric, and Dampier would provide some of that. It’s obvious the Hawks aren’t gonna find a guy that comes in and starts, puts up 10 a game, and grabs 8 rebounds. We just need another big body to give us valuable minutes against other teams bigs (something Jason Collins wasn’t doing). The Philadelphia centers had 29 points last night. They were scoring at will because the Hawks lacked the length to defend them. Gadzuric might be the Hawks best option considering Przybilla is looking to sign elsewhere and Dampier is much older and less athletic.

when he was in Utah he killed us and with good distribution he can become a force.
Might not hurt

Yeah, that's about right.
With Zaza in the starting line up and Ivan being the only good frontcourt rebounder coming off the bench, the Hawks lose a lot on the boards when both Zaza and Josh are on the bench. That was even so with Collins (who only provided presence). Ivan can’t be expected to carry the load of rebounding amongst the trees alone. He is already playing out of position. I think DJ Mbenga would be a great defensive presence and rebounder to pair with Ivan off the bench, while using VladRad in situations.

just because….no one else on the list does anything for me…at least Damp was on a contender..although the thing I remember about him most is when Shaq was asked about his bad game several yrs ago he said something about “it’s bad, I’m playing like Eric Dampier”…lol..one of the funniest comments ever by Shaq

that was from a twitter feed called NotShaquilleONeal. Either way lots of Bucks fans call Bogut soft and now he has brittle Oden bones. No thx. I just wanted a big shooter in Leuer.

Why did they sign this guy?
The Hawks signed eric dampier and he is not a factor at all. Not is basketball shape and cant help us in the post at all. Isnt he the same center that went to the Heat and didnt have kinds words about the Hawks when he was choosing a team and deciding to sign with the Heat?
