WSB's Zach Klein is reporting that although not official, Erick Dampier is expected to sign another 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks.
Nothing is official, but #hawks expected announce later C Erick Dampier will sign another 10-day contract

Dampier's first 10-day contract ended after Saturday night's loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. By rule, the Hawks can sign Dampier to one more 10-day contract before either signing him for the remainder of the season or letting him go.
With Al Horford out and Jason Collins down for 2-4 more weeks, Atlanta's front court is thin which is why Dampier was signed in the first place. He has played 26 minutes for the Hawks over four games.
9:45pm Update: The signing is now official and has been confirmed via Hawks press release:
The Atlanta Hawks today signed center Erick Dampier to a second 10-day contract, according to Executive Vice President/General Manager Rick Sund.
The 15-year veteran has appeared in four games for the Hawks this season, after signing his first 10-day contract on February 9, averaging 2.5 rpg, 0.3 apg, 0.3 spg and 0.3 bpg in 6.5 mpg.

Ugh
What are the chances they sign him for the rest of the year following this 10 day period? Probably pretty high…that is unless the hawks have something planned on the trade front and they are just signing 10 day stop gaps till its all worked out.
I think their are actually quite a few solid centers out there for the right price. Greg monroe is my personal favorite but I dont think we have what it takes to get that done without becoming worse. Pekovic from minnesota is another, is the twolves do indeed trade for gasol, that would make the peksecutioner expendable, but with the way he has been playing, why would they want gasol, but I suppose its still a possibility. Then ofcourse there is chris kaman, but the asg would have to commit to paying the luxery tax and knowing the league owned hornets theyd probably ask for a kings ransom in return.
Like I said, there are possibilities, but it will take a lot of cards falling in the right places for us to land anything more than a stopgap center.
