Eh?

Very unusual for Twin to chip in either 4 points or 4 rebounds, but doing both in 10 minutes would be a huge game from him.

ESPN gets Hawks stats wrong... AGAIN

Wilbon just said during the pre-game show that the Heat have beaten the Hawks four straight times. Is it that hard to get it right with the Hawks?

So you want Josh to box out Lebron and Bosh

After blocking the shot and then go get the rebound himself? This is ridiculous. Some people find any reason to blame him regardless of what’s actually happening in the game. How about Marvin, Joe, Zaza, T Mac and Ivan take some responsibility? Everyone on the floor is accountable for 31 rebounds. Not one guy, especially when he has to fly out to block shots

smallball ftw. Atlanta Munchkins Getting dominated on the boards by Wade Lebron and Bosh and

Bosh too athletic for Zaza and too big for a 225 SF in Josh and softazz Marvin.

Mike Miller and Lebron taking breaks guarding Marvin. Marvin is a complete nonfactor inside the paint.

Where were the easy shots supposed to come from. At some point we have to trade for a Ryan Anderson/Leuer/Kevin Love type. stick Josh on Lebron and the stretch PF on Bosh and put in Zaza to keep them off the boards.

All you need to know about the offense

@HawksPRGuy
“The things we did well in the previous games against them, we did poorly tonight,” said #Hawks coach Drew. “Too many jump shots…”

Settled for jumpers, which led to long rebounds, which led to easy points for the Heat in transition, and then the snow ball effect happened and that was all she wrote for the Hawks this game

Final Thought

Two ways to look at this game…

1) POSSUM THEORY IS IN FULL EFFECT BABY!!!

2)The Hawks never need to play on national TV again this season (unless their playing a sorry team on the road). Phillips Arena does not need a national TV audience to see 75% of the fans root for the other team and for the home team to give them a legitimate reason to do so.

This is still 1 game out of 66 though, the goal for the regular season is to make the playoffs. in that state of mind, this loss doesn’t matter at all.

by Bryant Singleton on Feb 12, 2012 10:14 PM EST reply actions

Why didn't we play a zone tonight?

Seems weird since that was the secret to our success against them in Miami. Make D-Wade and Lebron make jumpshots. As they proved tonight they can score on anyone when you play them man to man.

On defense Yes

its really difficult to play match up zone when you have a weakness, and Zaza doesnt have the lateral quickness to play that type of defense against the Heat.

But thats a small issue compared to not getting into the painted area and instead settling for the shots the Heat were allowing the Hawks to take
