The Atlanta Hawks led by as many as 10 points but an 18-5 run to end the half has the Oklahoma City Thunder on top 51-47 at the break. Thus far, the Hawks have turned in a much better effort defensively and on the glass than in their season opening loss however, the hot shooting of Kevin Martin has the Thunder on top.
Jeff Teague leads the Hawks with 14 points and four assists at the intermission. Al Horford has eight points and four rebounds at the break. Ivan Johnson saw his first action of the season and responded with six points off the bench. Atlanta started out how but sank to 48 percent shooting and are just 3-12 from three point range. The Hawks also struggled from the free throw line making just 4-9 with Kyle Korver going an uncharacteristic 1-3.
Kevin Martin leads all scorers with 22 points off the Thunder bench. Martin hit 6-7 shots and was a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. Kevin Durant added 13 points, six rebounds and three assists for the Thunder. Oklahoma City finished the half shooting 53 percent and hit all ten of their free throw attempts in the first half.
