Josh D. Weiss-US PRESSWIRE

Josh Smith suffered a sprained right ankle in the loss to the Rockets Friday night, and will not travel with the team the Oklahoma City for Sunday's game.

The Hawks will be down their star power forward when they go up against the reigning Western Conference champions on the road Sunday. Smoove suffered a sprained right ankle in the loss to the Rockets. I believe the injury occurred in the third quarter as he landed awkwardly after going for either a block or rebound and after the play gingerly walked to the block and began rubbing his ankle as Houston was attempting their foul shots. Smith played the rest of the game and looked to be alright, but in the locker room after the game requested a protective sock for his ankle before talking with reporters. Hopefully it is a minor sprain and it just swelled up on him and they don't want him to travel on it and he won't miss extended time. The Hawks play Indiana at home on Wednesday as their next game after OKC, and we will learn more by then.
